Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

The quote for the week: “The thankful receiver bears a plentiful harvest.” William Blake

One of the things that I’m thankful for is the commitment that is shown by the fellas in the band to The Woodbine Opry. Without them the Saturday night program would not be the success that it is. We will be welcoming Joe Muench back with us this Saturday, and we’re going to have a good time. I hope you can be there with us.

This week’s trivia question: What country music band leader is Jewish, 6’7″ tall, and wears a 16EEE shoe? What a character he is.

Last week’s answer: Cal Smith

I hope that you all do have a good Thanksgiving and that you can join us this Saturday night at The Woodbine Opry.

Well here we are at another Thursday; the week has flown by and Saturday will be upon us before we know it. John LeMaster will be with us again this Saturday, and it’s always good having him visit here at The Opry. As always, we’re going to have a good time and I know that you will too.

The quote for the week: If you treat your wife like a thoroughbred, you’ll never end up with a nag.
Zig Ziglar

“It’s our time again” here at The Woodbine Opry and we’re getting ready for another Saturday night. All the fellas in the band are just like you, we can’t wait for Saturday to get here. You just can’t have too much fun. This week will be another good one and Steve Seek will be with us for his first appearance at The Woodbine Opry. We’re gonna have a good time.

This Saturday is the Second Saturday Supper at the Old School Cafeteria. The meal is offered by the Woodbine Woman’s Club and serving begins at 5:00PM. The menu is for either baked or grilled chicken, dressing, and green beans, dessert and a drink. The price of the meal is $8.00.

This week’s trivia question: This country music session musician has backed several notable artists including Bobby Dylan, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley. He was also the music director of the TV show, Hee Haw, for 19 years. Who is he?

The answer to last week’s question: Don Gibson in 1957 recorded a double-sided hit record. His producer chose “Oh Lonesome Me” to be the A side, but the B side, which Don knew was a great song, was “I Can’t Stop Loving You”.

I hope to see you all at The Woodbine Opry this Saturday.
