Mid-Week Tid Bits, 1-31-13

The quote for the week:  You can lead a man to Congress, but you can’t make him think.
Milton Berle

We’re looking to have another fine evening at The Woodbine Opry this Saturday night.  John LeMaster will be our special guest, and it is always good having John with us.

This week’s trivia question:  This artist has charted songs for over 200 individual weeks in both country and pop charts.  His career started in the mid-50’s with a rockabilly group, and later with a jazz group.  Prior to forming his own group he was with The New Christy Minstrels.  Who is he?

Last week’s answer:  Jack Greene

The attendance, which is normal for this time of year, has been outstanding; literally we have folks out standing in the hall.  I know many come early and save seats for friends that are going to sit with them, and to a point I understand this.  However, when I arrive on Saturday evenings and see the same “saved” seats week after week, then that’s a problem.  I personally think the auditorium is opened too early and this leads to the seat saving.  I find it embarrassing to have first-time visitors sitting in the hall when there are so many empty seats that are being “saved”.  If, by 6:45, whoever you are saving the seats for haven’t arrived, they should be given up to those who are looking for seating.  Let’s be cooperative and keep “seat saving” to a minimum during evenings of packed house crowds.

I hope to see you at The Woodbine Opry for another good time.

Opry On!
