OLD SCHOOL BUILDING CLOSED DUE TO HURRICANE IRMA AFTERMATH, as advised by Charles Howell/Old School Committee VP. The Woodbine Opry/Friday Nights OPRY CLOSED due to storm/weather conditions. The Woodbine Opry/Friday Night will be closed Friday, September 15th. With the danger to road, travel and property as a result of hurricane Irma, these precautions are necessary for the safety of all at this time, as advised by Hoydt Drury, director for the Friday Opry. We hope you all have a safe time during the next few days and hope to see you all back with us Friday, September 22nd. The Saturday Night Opry is also closed Saturday (9/16/17), as advised by Robert McCullers, director for the Saturday Opry. Be safe and hope to see you back Saturday, September 23rd.

Sat. May 27, 2017 The Woodbine Opry is looking to see you again this evening for another evening of good ole’ live country music. Come out and listen to Robert McCullers, Aubrey Jones, J.C. Hunnicutt, T.K. Hilton, Joe Muench, along with guests John LeMaster and Nelly Aba. The doors open at 6:00, program starts at 7:00, admission is free. With the passing of Bob Staats, Director and Emcee for The Saturday Night Opry, this program was handed over to Bob’s right-hand man Robert McCullers as Bob knew Robert would capably carry on and continue to manage this program and it’s current venue, every Saturday night. The Saturday Night Opry will continue as a structured program consisting of its five member house band, with guest appearances, as scheduled by McCullers. Sat. May 20, 2017 There was a good crowd in Woodbine, Georgia this evening with first-time visitors from Columbus, Ga. and Chicago, Il. The cake table was full of goodies and the half and half was $293.00 The Opry Program consisted of entertainers Robert McCullers, Aubrey Jones, T.K. Hilton, Joe Muench, J.C. Hunnicutt, and guest musicians John LeMaster and Rick Fryefield. Assisting on the floor were Ray and Dawne Sutton, Tim Murray, J.P. Lewis, John Hamilton, Mary Keaton and Dick and Love Young. Thanks to all of these fine folks for their dedication to keep The Opry going on. Hope you all have a good week and see you again next Saturday. Opry on!

Sat., 5-13-2017 There was a fun time here at The Woodbine Opry. Our first-time visitors came from Palm Valley and Jacksonville, Fl. and Blackshear, Ga. Again the cake table was loaded with good desserts and goodies. The half and half was $300.00. Those providing tonight’s entertainment were Robert McCullers, J. C. Hunnicutt, Aubrey Jones, Joe Muench, T. K. Hilton and guests Gary Sumpter and Gene Howard. Assisting on the floor were J. P. Lewis, John Hamilton, Tim Murray, Dick and Love Young and Mary Keaton. Thanks once again to all these fine musicians and folks who work to support the Opry program. We had a mighty good crowd with us at the Woodbine Opry Saturday, May 6th. Our program consisted of Robert McCullers, Aubrey Jones, J.C. Hunnicutt, T.K. Hilton, Joe Muench and guest Rick Fryefield. Our first time visitors came from Soperton, Ga., Palm Coast, and Jacksonville, Fl.
The cake table was full of goodies and the half and half was $267.00.

Saturday Night, 4-29-17

Another fine crowd was with us tonight here at The Woodbine Opry.  Our first-time visitors included a Vivo Bus Tour group of 30, also folks from Folkston, Hortense, Cedar Crossing, Vidalia, and Kingsland, Ga., along with some from Jacksonville and Port Orange, Fl.  The half-n-half was $221.00.Woodbine 4-29-17 033

Saturday Night, 4-22-17

Oh, we had a good time tonight here at The Woodbine Opry.  Our first-time visitors were from Woodbine, Hortense, Waycross, Burnt Fort, Claxton, and White Oak, Ga., Hilliard and Palm Coast, Fl., Killen, Al., Ashland, NH, and Colleyville, Tx.  Thanks to all who donated to the cake table; the half-n-half was $260.00.Woodbine 4-22-17 039

Providing the entertainment tonight were Robert McCullers, Aubrey Jones, T.K. Hilton, John LeMaster, Rick Fryefield, and yours truly.  Assisting on the floor were Dick and Love Young, Mary Keaton, Cricket Crosby, Tim Murray, John Hamilton, and J.P. Lewis.

Next Saturday is the Annual Woodbine Crawfish Festival and we will be having The Woodbine Opry at our regular time of 7:00pm.  Barbeque dinners will be sold by the Old School Renovation Committee, Inc. in the old school cafeteria for $10.00 a plate.  Servings begin at 11:00am.

I hope that ya’ll have a good week and can make it back to The Woodbine Opry real soon.
